What Gets Carpet So Dirty in Matthews?

Today, Matthews boasts a population of about 33,000 with an average growth rate just under 2.0% annually. Matthews neighborhood subdivisions have surpassed 120 and developers aren't slowing down. We've seen sentimental landmarks close while watching historic restoration take over. One thing you can be sure of with explosive growth is dirt, grime, and a need for carpet cleaning in Matthews NC.

Anyone who lives in Matthews knows 4 things. One, wet red clay is everywhere in the winter. Two, the entire town turns yellow from oak pollen in the spring. Three, homeowners seem to be mowing dust in the summer. Four, a warmer autumn means leaves and tree debris fall for months without end. With the amazing growth of Matthews comes additional pollutants from excessive cars, heavy equipment, and chemical lawn treatments, so your residential and commercial properties will become grimy and soiled with time. That's where Metro Steamway Inc comes in. Since 1988, we've cleaned carpets, rugs, upholstery, tile and grout, pet stains and odors for homes and offices in and around Matthews.

How Carpet Cleaning Works

We use what is known as truck-mounted hot water extraction, or steam. The name explains a lot, but let me break it down for you. The equipment is mounted in our beautifully wrapped work vans, so it never comes inside your home. It produces high pressure water at high temperatures with industrial strength vacuum suction, still gentle enough not to damage fabrics and materials when operated by IICRC master certified technicians like Metro owner and operator Brian Sniatecki.

The high-pressure water and vacuum lines are both carried inside along with a very expensive carpet cleaning head and pre-treatment sprayer for pesky spots and stains. Brian works the equipment swiftly and ensures all of your furniture, corners, and other flooring are well protected while he's working inside. Depending on the day or job, Brian may have an additional set of hands helping him clean your carpets in a timely manner and with extreme care.

Rug and Upholstery Cleaning in Matthews

We clean both indoor and outdoor rugs and upholstery. Living in the south means great weather, and great weather means outdoor living. Most homes in Matthews have patios, porches, decks, or cabanas with lovely outdoor furniture and rugs that can get very dirty or moldy each year. Metro Steamway is one of the best in the business when it comes to cleaning the dirt, grime, and mold from outdoor rugs and furniture.

We do amazing rug and upholstery cleaning indoors as well. We take very special care to maintain the richness and integrity of your old-style Persian and Oriental rugs, or the delicacy of Turkish and animal fur rugs. These rugs are often passed down from generation to generation, and Matthews NC is no stranger to homes over 100 years old and residents that aren't much younger.

We ensure everything is color tested, chemical tested, and pre-treated for extra safety before full cleaning begins. Cleaning normally soiled rugs and furniture can take as little as 10 minutes. We use the same truck mount equipment but different cleaning tools depending on the application and need.

Carpet Cleaning Chemicals

In almost all cleaning applications the chemicals we use are eco-friendly and non toxic to children, animals, house plants, and people with sensitive allergies. In fact, our carpet cleaning can improve the air quality of your home by up to 70% by removing deep set particulates and pollens that stir in the air just from walking. These are the things normal retail vacuums aren't strong enough to pick up.

Even better is how good our carpet cleaning chemicals work after we finish and leave. If you've ever tried to clean a stain on your carpet only to see it reappear 6 months later like nothing happened, here's why. Store-bought retail cleaners sound great in TV commercials or TikTok ads, but one thing most people don't know. They're just soap. Soap may lift the stains, but it leaves a chemical residue you can't see. Over time this invisible film near your feet slowly collects dirt and grime until the spot you thought you cleaned looks just as dirty as it did before.
