What Gets Into Marvin Carpet

Marvin was cotton and equestrian country until recently, and the estates going up now sit on what was pasture and red-clay field. A lot of the carpet here is brand new, taking its first traffic while construction is still finishing on nearby lots, so fine clay and drywall and sanding grit ride in on boots and settle deep into fresh fiber before it has ever been cleaned. The lots are large, one to five acres and more, with homes set far back behind long, often gated drives, so there is a lot of open ground, grass, pollen, and clay to cross between the car and the door. The village protects its tree buffers, so there is a heavy pollen load in spring on top of it all.

Rug, Upholstery, and Fabric Protection in Marvin

These are custom estates furnished to match, with wool and Oriental rugs over hardwood and natural-fiber upholstery. Those are the easiest things to ruin with the wrong cleaning, so we identify the fiber first, test older dyes for colorfastness, and clean each piece by what it actually is. Metro Steamway's owner is an IICRC-certified journeyman textile cleaner. On new carpet there is one more thing worth doing: fabric protector applied while the carpet is fresh reseals the fibers so spills can be blotted before they set, which protects a large investment from the first day.

How Our In-Home Carpet Cleaning Works

Metro Steamway brings the truck-mounted hot water extraction system to your home, gated drive and all. The heat and suction stay on the van, so the crew brings in just the hose and wand. We work through the carpet room by room across those large floor plans and clean area rugs in place on your floor. Drying is quick, which matters in Charlotte's humidity, since a carpet left damp can take on a musty smell.

Marvin Carpet Cleaning FAQs

Is fabric protector worth it on new carpet?

For a new custom home, yes. Applying protector after cleaning reseals the fibers so spills can be blotted before they stain, which keeps new carpet looking new and protects a large investment.

Can you clean a wool or Oriental rug in the home?

Yes. We clean rugs right on your floor. We identify the fiber, test the dyes, and use a method the rug can handle, so it never leaves your home.

How long does the carpet take to dry?

Usually a few hours. The truck-mounted system pulls most of the water back out, so the carpet is dry the same day. In Charlotte's humidity that matters, since a carpet left damp can take on a musty smell.
